Aircraft description

The Tu-134 is a short-haul passenger aircraft powered by two turbofan engines. They are mounted on pylons at the rear of the fuselage, reducing cabin noise compared with earlier-generation aircraft. Its horizontal stabiliser is mounted at the top of the vertical fin, forming a T-tail. Fuel is stored in integral wing tanks. The Tu-134 was certified to international standards.

An unusual feature is the arrangement of the first few passenger seats in facing rows with a table between them, similar to a railway carriage. This layout is not found on other modern commercial aircraft.
