This aircraft is distinguished by legendary quality, perfect safety, flexible flight characteristics. The range of continuous flight of the aircraft is more than 11 thousand kilometers, while the model develops speeds up to 940 km / h. Clean air, low barometric height, complete silence, thoughtful interior layout – all these touches of comfort will undoubtedly be highly appreciated by passengers.

The Gulfstream V was one of the first ultra long range business jets. The prototype made its first flight on November 28, 1995, and received the American Civil Certificate in April 1997. A key decision for the development program was the choice in September 1992 of the BMW Rolls-Royce (now Rolls-Royce) BR710.

Gulfstream V is a development of the Gulfstream IV with a new fuselage, lengthened by 2.13 m, which allowed to accommodate 15-19 passengers in the cabin. The wing in the plan almost retained the shape of the predecessor, but its size was increased, as a result, the capacity of the wing tanks increased by 10%. The area of the tail surfaces is also increased. The bulkhead of the crew cabin was moved to the tail part by 0.30 m, from which it became more spacious.

The instrumentation is made on the GIV-SP machine based on the Honeywell SPZ-8500 system using six multifunction displays, a digital automated flight control system, Honeywell/Marconi ILS. Satellite communication made it possible to implement the concept of “office in the sky”.

The first flight of the aircraft took place on November 28, 1995 and was certified by the FAA on December 16, 1996, after completing 1,100 hours of test flights. This aircraft and four more took part in the certification program of the new aircraft (over 900 flights with a total duration of 1,900 flight hours were performed), after which the FAA certificate was received on April 11, 1997. Delivery of the aircraft to the first customer was performed on July 1, 1997, the same summer the demonstrator aircraft of the company made a unique world tour on the route Los Angeles - London - Hong Kong - Beijing - Tokyo - New York, covering a distance of 35,692 km in 39 hours and 42 minutes.

In 2003, the first flight of an upgraded version called the Gulfstream G550 with a significantly increased range took place. Also, good takeoff characteristics allow it to rise into the air at maximum load from a strip length of 1,570 m.
